Tips & Tricks
Anyone can make a quiz game like a Glimpse Game. Really. It’s incredibly easy to get the hang of it. And boy, is it fun to do!
First play a few games to get a feel for what the games can be like.
Before you start think of this:
- Who are you targeting?
- The general public can come from any country and will have had exposure to world culture and history, but not local history/culture.
- Maybe make a game just for friends and make questions only they can answer.
- It can be great fun to make a game about a very specific topic, that only a small group of people in the world knows much about.
- How difficult do you want your game to be? Not everyone is equally smart.
- Preferably make games with 5 questions or more.
- A quiz game is more likely to be fun for people if all questions are on one topic.
- Alternate timely (longer) questions with quick (shorter) ones.
- Vary your questions in difficulty. Noone likes to fail 5 questions in a row.
- Try to mix questions that require attention, knowledge or understanding.
- Attention: “What was the color of the dress the actress was wearing?”
- Knowledge: “In what year was this album released?”
- Understanding: “How big of a surface do you need to carry this item?”
- Use different answer types throughout your Questions.
- Keep your questions rather short. People often don’t have the stomach to wait long to obtain or answer a question.
- Share your game on Facebook or on your website after you’re done with it. That way more people get to play it.
